As you may have heard, Impactpool now offers valuable Virtual Career Fairs. Over the years, we have received numerous requests to offer Virtual Career Fairs in addition to our successful Career Webinars, so we’ve listened.

A curation of sector-specific, thematic career events delivered alongside an awareness and empowerment campaign, where we shed light on key recruitment issues and SDGs within the International Public Sector, such as diversity, gender equality and inclusion.

On December 2nd, 2020, we successfully hosted our first Virtual Career Fair, targeted at Senior Women Leaders worldwide. An Impactpool initiative set up to support our partner organizations with their efforts in reaching gender parity in senior roles with diverse and inclusive recruiting.

Participating organizations included The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI)

The very nature of an Impactpool Virtual Career Fair removes logistical constraints while offering an environmentally friendly solution and valuable digital ecosystem where recruiters engage with a pre-vetted audience.

For our first fair, we tackled the ever-pressing gender equality issue as we identified and invited Senior Women Leaders with no less than 7 years of experience and a relevant post-graduate degree, working at International Organizations around the world. We believe the presence of more women in senior roles, can radically change cultural attitudes and internal practices.

The event page received over 4400 visitors, with 647 Women completing their registration for the event and 366 pre-qualified candidates joined on the day. Some attendees chose to just explore employer information and simply drop off their resumés, the majority of candidates engaged in group and private chats directly with senior HR staff from the participating organizations, they also got to enjoy exclusive chats with our Impactpool Career Coaches

It was fantastic to host such a diverse audience from close to 100 nations with varying skillsets and backgrounds. Attending candidates included women leaders currently in or ready to take on DCD, CD, or Directors roles, working in a mixture of International Organizations, UN Agencies, NGOs, Development Banks, CSOs, IFIs, Research and Science Institutions, Foundations as well as those from the Private sector.

Impactpool Virtual Career Fairs are not just one-off events, they are a part of a wider, month-long campaign where we shed light on key recruitment issues within the sector.

Simultaneously we delivered a 4-week campaign 'Striving Towards Gender Parity', empowering women with unique employee interviews, webinars, career resources and featured job opportunities from the participating organizations. A big thank you to UNFPA, WIPO, IFAD, AIIB and CHAI for your commitment and efforts towards diversity recruiting.

Gender equality is seeing men and women as being of equal status and value. It is judging a person based on their merit, and not viewing them as inferior or superior purely based on their gender.

In 2021, Impactpool will host a variety of thematic and ad hoc career events, be sure to create a career events user profile to be the first to receive these unique career opportunities. View and join the upcoming 2021Virtual Career Fairs here.
