Name Francesco Stella -  Student 2017/2018, from Italy.

Profile: When I started the Master Course in Management of Development at ITCILO in Turin, I was freshly graduated from Bachelor studies in Political Science, International Relations. I felt the need of a practical approach that would allow me to build a set of technical skills, spendable in the working environment.

For this reason, I chose to enroll in the Master on Management of Development, where I had the opportunity to learn the useful technique of Project Cycle Management and many other interesting topics and subjects related to Economy, Law, Sociology, Environment and others, all supported by knowledgeable teachers and experienced professionals.  The class was amazing, composed by colleagues coming from all over the world, willing to study together, share capabilities and points of view; this made the learning experience extremely enriching and complete. After years, we are still in contact, planning to organize a reunion.

My career and projects: PCM has been really useful to understand how Projects and Programmes are managed. This is an essential capacity widely used in the development sector, indeed I have many opportunities to leverage this capacity during my first working experiences.

A few months after the end of the Master, I started an internship at UNCDF in Brussels, where I have been working for around one and a half years. It has been an incredibly challenging first professional training that helped me grow a lot and taught me a lot about programme management. Now, I have just started a new working adventure at the European Commission as a Blue Book Trainee. It is an extreme exciting environment that I hope will teach me new indispensable capacities and new competencies.
