About Salma Zulfiqar
Salma Zulfiqar has worked in different communication roles in the UN all over the world over the past 15 years. This includes strategic communications, video production, social media, writing for the web, media liaison and event management. Salma has worked with UNICEF, UNOCHA, UNDPA, UNESCO and UNDPKO on major national and international projects and has extensive experience of working with the UN in the field as well as Headquarters.
Her work has taken her from Kabul to Kenya, Yemen to Syria, Egypt to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Salma has worked with UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Mia Farrow, UN Education Envoy Gordon Brown, UN Peace Ambassador Malala and her teacher Mariam Khalique. Prior to working with the UN Salma was a journalist with the Associated Press TV, BBC and ITV.
