ABOUT THE JOB

The IT Officer (Roving) will be based in the DRC Kabul Office but will primarily provide support to DRC area Offices remotely with regular visits, The roaming IT officer will carry out the following tasks and then will report to IT Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for set up, development, maintenance, and update of the whole DRC area.
  • and field office networks, related applications, and cloud services.
  • To take security procedures for the system’s files.
  • Troubleshooting systems and networks.
  • Diagnosing and solving hardware/software failures.
  • Focal point to Internet service provider to DRC all facilities.
  • Replacing computer hardware as required.
  • Providing supportive documentation; including procedural documentation.
  • Installing and Troubleshooting Different Computer/Network Accessories.
  • Assist with the procurement of all hardware, software, and IT support services.
  • The ensuing DRC area and field offices are in line with DRC global IT policy.

  • Contract length: till 31st of December 2023 with the possibility of extension.

  • Designation of Duty Station: Afghanistan Country Office based in Kabul with frequent travels in the Provinces of the Region
  • DRC has Flexible working hours for Female staff as per DRC Policy.
  • 13th month’s salary Will be paid by the end of each month with salary.

  • 1+1 Health Insurance will be provided by DRC.

  • DRC Provides kindergarten/daycare allowance for max 2 children – Applicable for female mothers.
  • Per diem allowance for employee and her Mahram - Applicable for female 
  • Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the DRC salary scale.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: 

  • At least 4 years of work experience in the field of Information technology with familiarity with network administration, Cisco network devices, Mikrotik routers, and helpdesk support.

Education/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science is required, candidates with CCNA, Microsoft Office 365 and Mikrotik certifications are at an added advantage.

Languages:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of Dari/Pashtu is an added advantage.
