Pathfinder international India Overview
Pathfinder International India (Pathfinder) is a Section 8 Entity established in 2011 by Pathfinder International. Pathfinder has dedicated itself towards addressing the health issues of women, youth and adolescent health to advance India’s development priorities. Pathfinder’s aspiration is 350+ million citizens participate in and benefit from India’s economic and development growth. Pathfinder considers regressive and restrictive gender and social norms a barrier to this aspiration, and a root cause in preventing the full realization of entitlements and rights by marginalized populations, women and girls, and young people. Pathfinder believes cooperation and collaboration between governmental, non-governmental and private sector organizations is necessary for progress in addressing barriers, constraints, and challenges to successful rights- based development outcomes. The inclusion of individuals, communities and their representative institutions are critical in this process. Pathfinder has implemented multiple projects to bring necessary information and services to the people who need them most, in collaboration with the state governments, development partners and corporates in India.
Project Overview

PII has multiple programs operational in several locations in India. One of them is to generate awareness on fertility health. Globally, up to 15% of couples in reproductive age are infertile. According to estimates from the World Health Organization, the prevalence of primary infertility in India ranges between 3.9% and 16.8%1. The lack of children has grave demographic, social, and health ramifications. Despite the fact that fertility health is an inseparable component of an individual's total health and well-being, government and private sector health programming have not focused sufficiently on enhancing fertility health. To address this issue, Pathfinder in collaboration with Indira IVF hospitals private limited initiated preventive fertility healthcare awareness program to inculcate healthy behavior and practices among the community and needy couples in six cities of India.
The project will be implemented in two phases over a period of two years with aims to generate awareness around fertility health by addressing issues of infertility and appropriate lifestyle changes among married couples of 20-35 years of age group and in the community.
