Mission
Coordinate and participate in the response to the emergency caused by escalation of conflict in Gaza and the West Bank.
Geographical scope of the intervention
Initially based in Jerusalem, with travel to Gaza and West Bank as appropriate.

This post will report to Médicos del Mundo Country Coordinator in Jerusalem.
Functions
- Conduct the situation diagnosis and design the intervention, contributing to the definition and implementation of operational strategies.
- Assume leadership and coordination during the emergency intervention.
- Coordination with other MDM Chapters in the field in relation to the emergency intervention
- Contribute to selection processes of local staff related to the emergency.
- Assist the Country Coordinator in supervising and managing national and expatriate staff and ensuring their integration and involvement in relation to the emergency.
- Identify operational issues and mitigate risks by adapting the structure and making it flexible according to specific needs.
- Participation in coordination meetings with other emergency actors
- Identifying possible strategic alliances with local and/or international actors
- Identifying new response operations, assessing their relevance and feasibility, and lead drafting proposals and/or projects related to the emergency.
- Coordination and monitoring of the implementation and justification of emergency intervention.
- Contribute to and strengthen response capacities at the local level.
- Managing deployment and transfer/exit phases.
- Assist the Country coordinator in ensuring compliance with the organisation's internal rules and security measures with special emphasis on the extraordinary and mitigation measures.
- Actively and continuously monitor potential emergencies in the field by participating in national monitoring groups.
- Prepare reports with indicators as deemed appropriate, related to the interventions carried out.
- Know and comply with the Mission, Vision, Principles and Values of MdM.
- Comply with the Entity's internal rules and procedures.
- Know and comply with MdM's "Guide to Conduct and Ethical Behaviour".
Knowledge &Qualification
University degree.
Master's degree and/or Diploma in Public Health, Humanitarian Action and/or Gender desirable.
Complementary: Training in SPHERE standards, CHS (Core Humanitarian Standard) and/or Professional Certification in the field of Protection and Humanitarian Action (PHAP, Disaster Management, etc.).
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in project identification.
- Knowledge of the cluster system.
- Experience of working with international actors and in complex socio-political and security contexts.
- Required: English.
- Desirable: Spanish, Arabic.
