Context

The International Volunteer Day (IVD) on 5th December is a powerful occasion to celebrate the impact of volunteerism on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The core of IVD 2023 Celebration lies in its global theme, "If Everyone Did…". This theme envisions a world where everyone actively embraces volunteerism, fostering strong communities based on trust, respect, and equality. Together, we share, give, contribute, and support, creating a ripple effect that positively transforms lives. Just imagine the impact if everyone joined this momentum, working together to address pressing global challenges. The Thailand Voluntary National Review Report 2020 on Volunteerism and Sustainable Development attests to the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the core of Thailand's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 12th National Economic and Social Development Plan (2017–2021) and the 20-Year National Strategy further demonstrate the government's proactive efforts to align policies and budget allocations towards sustainable development. Emphasizing the importance of public participation, the Government of Thailand encourages widespread involvement in the development process, including volunteerism. Thammasat University is part of the global solutions and help the world achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sustainability in now integrated into our policies to strengthen the existing sustainability efforts and encourage new and transformative initiations at every level, in every faculty, college and campus of the university.
