Result of Service
The incumbent will provide support to the GFC Secretariat in executing its additional needed functions during the transitional period from SAICM to GFC. The functions of the secretariat are listed in Section X.C of the Framework. These services will contribute to the achievement of reporting tasks and the early implementation of the GFC workplan. The output includes the approved PoW 2024 onwards Project document and implementation plan.

Duties and Responsibilities
1st deliverable – December 2023 - Finalization of input to the PoW Project Document sections on Project justification, intervention strategy and relevance by December 2023 (Expected working time: 10 days, including follow up through meetings) 2nd deliverable – March 2024 Coordination and Drafted Project Document on the new Global Framework for Chemicals (PoW 2024-2026 Project document in line with UNEP templates and including ICCM5 relevant outputs, by March 2024 (Expected working time: 30 days.) 3rd deliverable – June 2024 Draft meeting documents for the in-person and online Bureau meetings up to 10 documents to be provided (expected working time: 20 days) 4th deliverable June 2024 Editorial overview of the development of the content of the new website (expected working time 10 days)
Qualifications/special skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, or International Relations with a corresponding demonstrated professional experience is required. Knowledge of the broad range of programmes, activities, information resources, and events relating to international chemicals management as reflected in the scope of the Framework is required. 12 years of experience with drafting and editing pre-session documentation for regional workshops, and international meetings, as well as finalizing meeting reports, ideally for SAICM Process.
Languages
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an asset.
