Context
Since 2022, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been supporting the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo in implementing the Integrated Programme REDD+ in the Province of Haut-Uele (PIREDD-HU). Financed by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the PIREDD Haut-Uele aims to reduce CO2 emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and to sustainably improve the incomes of local communities, including indigenous peoples, women and young people in the target areas of the province of Haut-Uele, notably the territories of Rungu, Wamba and Watsa. Within the three mentioned territories, the Programme cover 12 chiefdoms/sectors and 72 village territories. The PIREDD-HU has two specific objectives: (i) to improve the governance of natural resources (forests and land) and (ii) to strengthen the protection and sustainable management of forests in the target areas. The study on Migratory Flows and their Impact on the Forests in the Provinces of Haut-Uele, Bas-uele, Ituri and Tshopo located in the North-East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, are among the main studies carried out to date within the framework of the PIREDD-HU, and the related report has been drafted in French and translated into English. We are therefore looking a talented volunteer to review and proofread this document in order to improve the translation quality.
