Communications Assistant

INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

PURPOSE

 

Based in Asuncion, the Communications Assistant will support GGGI Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru Programs to complete communication tasks, including the preparation of press releases, social media posts, flyers and other communication material. Reporting responsibilities will be to GGGI Communications Associate.

 

ENGAGEMENT

 

  • Support the planning of communication activities for projects and program;
  • Engage with GGGI global communication and knowledge sharing team members to share, shape and deliver effective and impactful communication and knowledge sharing initiatives
  • Engage with counterparts to ensure respect of media guidelines
  • Support the engagement with media outlets to raise the visibility of GGGI in the region

 

 DELIVERY

 

  • Preparing press releases and social media posts
  • Ensure correct storage of photos, videos and communication material in SharePoint
  • Support the layout of PPT presentations and internal communication materials
  • Support the preparation of quarterly newsletter for Ecuador, Peru and Paraguay
  • Support the implementation of the GGGI social media strategy
  • Assist in covering events by taking photographs, recording interviews, or posting content on our social media channels in coordination with the Communications Associate

 

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Communications and Journalism, or related fields.
  • Preferably 2-4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office and active usage of various social media outlets.
  • Advanced skill level with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (especially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro).
  • Experience in designing posts, infographics, videos, communication materials, and others.
  • Graphic design skills, photo recording and video production.
  • Excellent Spanish knowledge and good English writing and speaking skills are required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and have a flexible approach to tasks given.
  • Experience in working with public institutions is a plus.
  • Must be a Paraguay citizen, and/or have a valid work permit for Paraguay.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

The Assistant is an X4 grade level in GGGI’s Paraguay National salary scale. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate's experience, academic background and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance.
