Overview of position

Work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

Role objectives

Under the direct supervision of the Workshop Supervisor, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

Perform timely tire repairs and periodic services on trucks Light vehicles and equipment.

Perform preventive maintenances on vehicle’s tires and equipment when required.

Assist in evaluating the usage of all tires, spare parts, oils, and lubricants.

Inform the workshop clerk and storekeeper of all tires and tubes used in trucks and light vehicles repairs.

Report any faults discovered during maintenance and /or repair of a negligent nature to the workshop manager so proper action may be taken.

Maintain a log of all tire’s repairs for record purposes.

Travel to field /sub offices to repair tires for trucks and light vehicles as required.

Ensure safety precautions are always observed.

Assist in the dismantling and reassembly of tires for trucks and light vehicles as required.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop.

Assist in the supervision of junior staff while undergoing training.

Will perform any other duties as requested by immediate supervisor.

Project reporting

This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to travel to remote locations as required

Experience of minimum 3 years in private workshops

At least 3 years of experience in workshop maintaining tires of vehicles and trucks.

Fluent in Local Language.

Team management

This role has no team management responsibility.
