HI India seeks applications from qualified candidates for the following position.
 
Finance & Admin Officer – 1 position
 
Terms & Conditions: Fixed Term (Renewable contract)
 
Location: New Delhi
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers etc.
  • Responsible for timely updating of financial information and maintaining all financial records for projects and the organization.
  • Manage financial control, prepare and analyse budgets, develop financial reports, and make recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures.
  • Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.
  • Provide hands-on support to budget managers and the Project partners Team and ensure efficient management of the finance & accounts under the programme operations
  • Conduct internal audits and oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
  • Implement a robust financial management/ reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
  • Support maintaining compliance with internal financial and accounting policies, administrative procedures and local statutory requirements.
  • Liaison with financial institutions on matters related to AD-Bank/RBI
  • Ensure Legal compliance as per Indian statutory compliance related to Labour Law including EPFO, Gratuity Responsible for annual reporting and licence renewals in close coordination with SMT, Legal advisor and the concerned authorities.
  • Be responsible for Human Resource Administration Support including personnel record keeping, HRIS, recruitment and so on.
Qualification and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any relevant discipline; preference for Master’s Degree in the same discipline or CA-Inter, Cost accountants.  
  • At least 5 years of relevant proven work experience in finance and administration preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software (e.g. SAP, Tally)
  • Ability to explain financial terms in simple language
  • Sound knowledge of accounting & financial, tax & compliance management Includes FEMA, FCRA, Taxes, GST, Payroll, EPFO etc. 
  • Knowledge of donor frameworks and rules
  • Acquainted with data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficient in MS Office Packages as well as knowledge of accounting and financial reporting software.
  • Proficiency in English and oral and written communication skills
