We are looking for a development professional to work as Senior Researcher for an Action Research Project to support the Principal Investigator cum Team Leader. The position is based at Hyderabad. Interested candidates are requested to refer to position details carefully and follow the application process. Applications received through channels or processes other than those specified below may not be considered for selection process.
About the Assignment |
“Donors and Locally Led Development (LLD): Transforming Relationships for Strong and Resilient Communities” is an interesting research based development project to develop and test a framework comprising typologies of donors matched with the extent of emphasis on LLD as part of (that particular) project’s design, approach, interventions, assessment. Using a combination of analytical review of existing literature and field studies based on this framework, an LLD Index may be formulated and validated across different projects and programs.
This action research will be instrumental in defining new roles for donors in LLD interventions, especially in the context of market led livelihoods which aim to generate better and sustainable socioeconomic returns to communities, especially women. The project will identify best practices in the system in terms of effective funding pattern, program designing and collaboration opportunities to leverage local resources, donor’s engagement level and others which in turn will help in improving social return on investment. Further, the envisaged LLD Index components will be both process aspects and "LLD outcome" components - which are different from development outcomes. While the action research would be conducted in India, it would be possible to generalise some of the findings. For example, the typology of donors and the LLD Index would be applicable for all developmental projects. In the Indian context, ideas on how to translate the findings into actionable outcomes in terms of influencing the role of the donor will go a long way in creating a more sustainable development project landscape.
