The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.
Job Overview/Summary: The Health Program Assistant (Emergency Health Program) have to support the emergency program activities in Mae Hong Son, Thailand including documentary processing and field visit activities.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Emergency Program Activity
- Serve as a focal person for procurement of commodities for emergency response team i.e., conducting quotation/market survey/analysis, adjusting/preparation/submission of PR/IF/Integra
- Coordinate with operation team for arranging/managing transportation of goods and people by ensuring all the essential documents and vehicles are ready and in place.
- Accompany with Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to provide essential assistance during field visit temporary safety areas.
- Performs as a translator as necessary and liaise with Thai government officials/clients/staffs for program activities, meetings, and field visits.
2. Data management
- Conducting data entry after data collection into data collection system.
3. Logistics support
- Prepare and ensure the travel documents/ camp pass for supplies.
- Planning/arranging comprehensive package (i.e., bookings accommodation, attendance list, agenda, food and refreshments, transportation, meeting minutes etc.,) for internal and external organizational meetings.
4. Supply Chain support.
- Oversighting (monitoring, reviewing, forecasting, requesting, and distribution) upon the emergency response program stock inventory by close coordination with the warehouse and supply chain focal.
5. Others
- Tasks as requested by supervisor.

Indirect Reporting: Emergency Health Coordinator, Senior Health Manager, Environmental Health Officer
Other Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal:Environmental Health Officer (Mae Hong Son), and environmental Health Officer (Mae Sot), Senior Health Manager and Emergency Health Coordinator of Emergency Health Program and, other health program staff, IRC Operation team
External: CHDN, KNA, KnMHC, SHD, KNWO, BHDC, other local actors, and INGOs
Job Requirements:
Education: At least High school Diploma / University Diploma (bachelor’s degree is an advantage)
Work Experience: At least one year experience in non-governmental organizations.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Able to work as a team
- Demonstrated skills of ensuring good communication throughout the project and able to work in the field and fast-paced environment (i.e., emergency context)
- Flexible working hours as necessities of the project
- Experience in WASH activities is advantage
- Previous work in a multi-cultural environment is advantage.
- Good communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively and professionally with partners, colleagues, beneficiaries, and Thai local authorities
- Computer Literacy – Basic level of competence in MS Office i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Language Skills: Working knowledge of English, and Thai (Knowledge of Karen and Burmese are advantage.)

Working Environment: The position will be based in Mae Hong Son, a town in the North of Thailand, with frequent and regular travel to the Temporary Safety Areas.
