AIIB’s Strategy, Policy and Budget (SPB) Department is responsible for (i) developing and monitoring the implementation of the Bank’s strategic agenda; (ii) developing and overseeing compliance with the Bank’s operational policies and procedures for the Bank’s infrastructure investment operations (non-treasury), including environmental, social, procurement and financial management; and (iii) developing and monitoring the Bank’s annual business plan and budget to implement the Bank’s strategies and manage the Bank’s administrative budget to support the implementation of the annual business plan.

The Budget Associate / Officer will play a pivotal role in collaborating with team members to support Management in strategically planning and efficiently managing AIIB’s budgetary resources in alignment with Corporate Strategy and business priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supply day-to-day analytics to empower the Budget Unit in managing the entire budget cycle, from strategic planning and resource allocation to execution and performance evaluation.
  • Build and own high-quality datasets and reports in the domains of cost accounting and budget management. This involves enabling decision support and facilitating swift and accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Proactively assist the team in deepening the understanding of cost drivers and trends through insightful and rigorous analysis, utilizing both internal and external data sources or benchmarking.
  • Optimize business processes and maintain/improve tools and systems including master data management to ensure and enhance data quality and efficiency.
  • Contribute towards advancing the data capabilities such as automating analytical process, building dashboards/tools for a wide range of stakeholders across the Bank, including senior management, and promoting best data practices.
  • Apply advanced tools and/or statistical techniques when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, management, data or relevant fields. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years (for Associate) or 5-8 years (For Officer) of finance planning and analysis (FP&A) / management accounting / data analytics experience with increasing responsibilities in supporting management of large operational budget or cost base.
  • Exceptional analytical and modeling skills, demonstrated by proven records of managing large datasets and synthesizing them into compelling narratives for recommendations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and analytical tools. with preference given to familiarity with the SAP ecosystem and Power BI.
  • Solid knowledge in financial and management accounting. CPA/CFA/CIMA designation is preferred.
