Role Overview

We're looking for a committed full-time Content creator/Designer to support our citizen mobilisation push in the 2024 EU elections, from March to June 14. You will be part of a team dedicated to ensuring Europe continues to stand as a strong democratic force.

Joining one of the world's leading public organisations, your expertise in creating written and visual content will be leveraged to execute targeted campaigns to preserve our human rights, dignity, and the environment during the EU elections. 

The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of European politics, filming and editing skills, and experience crafting compelling visual content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and other digital channels, experience in promotion and distribution a plus. This position is a unique opportunity to shape Europe's political future in alignment with justice, equality, and human dignity. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging content, including video, infographics and visuals, tailored to specific European elections campaign objectives and target groups.
  • Collaborate with the campaign team to brainstorm and execute creative content ideas that resonate with European voters.
  • Write and edit persuasive copy for social media posts, blog articles, email newsletters, and other digital platforms.
  • Monitor social media trends and engage with online communities to amplify campaign messages and foster meaningful conversations, using insights to refine strategies and increase engagement.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure cohesive branding and messaging across all campaign materials.

Qualifications

  • Experience creating content for political campaigns, advocacy organizations, or media outlets.
  • Strong messaging skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive content across multiple formats and platforms under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using social media and chat platforms (incl. TikTok and WhatsApp), and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Mailchimp).
  • Proficient with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of EU politics, institutions, and electoral processes is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience in content distribution and promotion, as well as the ability to interpret metrics is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English. A high level of other European languages is an advantage.

Location

Avaaz is a virtual organisation; most of our work is done online. This position will be based in the EU region.

Compensation

Salary varies with location and experience and is highly competitive with leading international nongovernmental organisations. The monthly compensation for this position ranges from 4.800 - 7.000 EURO.
