Contract duration: | For initial appointments, the Court offers a two-year appointment with the possibility of extension (six month probationary period). |

Organisational Context
The Immediate Office of the Prosecutor (IOP) provides assistance and advice to the Prosecutor in the day-to-day fulfilment of his functions in toto and in the overall management and quality control of the Office’s work. IOP processes, prepares and reviews for the Prosecutor’s final approval all correspondence, speeches, reports, specific category of Office filings and other documents; facilitates senior management meetings and related records and archiving; manages inter-organ matters and Court-wide initiatives on behalf of the Prosecutor; facilitates the Office’s participation in inter-organ activities; and liaises with all components of the Office to ensure a consistency of standards and approach in line with the Prosecutor’s vision.
Duties & Responsibilities
Within the Immediate Office of the Prosecutor and subject to the direct authority of the Prosecutor, the incumbent is responsible for:
- Providing professional, efficient secretarial support to the Prosecutor;
- Providing administrative support to the Prosecutor for the day-to-day organization of his work, including the preparation of the Prosecutor’s briefing packages;
- Managing the agenda of the Prosecutor;
- Preparing and processing the official travel of the Prosecutor, in co-operation with the the relevant sections and units in the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP);
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings and conferences hosted by the Prosecutor, and providing administrative support as may be required;
- Ensuring the smooth and constant flow of information between the Prosecutor and his direct subordinates;
- and
- Performing other tasks as may be required by the Prosecutor.
Essential Qualifications
Education
Diploma of secondary education
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of experience as an executive assistant in the cabinet of a high-ranking international civil servant, minister, diplomatic official or executive officer in the private sector. An advanced or a first-level university degree may be considered as a substitute for two years' working experience only to determine eligibility.
Training in the administrative field preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Proven secretarial skills, including the ability to operate relevant computer software (especially Microsoft Office Suite);
- A good knowledge of general office management policies, procedures and practices;
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and meet deadlines;
- Excellent communication, drafting and organisational skills, ability to plan and establish priorities; and
- As an additional asset, familiarity with the rules and procedures of diplomatic protocol.
Knowledge of languages
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, English or French is required. Working knowledge of the other is considered a strong asset. Working knowledge of other official languages of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) would be considered as an additional asset.
