ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:

Digital technology and data are rapidly reaching some of the most vulnerable people and places affected by crisis, while also expanding operational approach to those same crises. As one of the main humanitarian actors, WFP has the opportunity and obligation to leverage data and technology to better know and serve those in need by digitally transforming the way it works. Such ambition has led to the developing a new WFP IT Strategy whose core elements inform the end-to-end business processes of the organization.

 

 

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Consultant will play a critical role as a core team member in the design, implementation, operation and optimization of IT services and ERP solutions to support WFP headquarters and field offices worldwide.  As an SAP integration specialist and Fiori technical analyst and developer, the incumbent will be involved in WINGS and ERP projects, performing technical design, development and testing of SAP functionality required to address business improvements and requirements not currently available through standard SAP functionality. In addition, the consultant will provide guidance and oversight for activities performed by other consultants or partners.

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively in the ERP Products Team, supervise, provide expert advice and coach less experienced team members, be a mentor for them by providing constructive feedback and create an inclusive culture.
  • Encourage innovation and creative solutions around new SAP Technologies linked to SAP Fiori and SAP HANA, while keeping the focus on getting results and meeting projects deadlines.
  • Support the functional analyst participating to the functional design and develop the technical design of the SAP developments related, when requested on the projects in which ERP product team will be involved.
  • Development and/or maintenance of SAP OData REST Services and Open-API Services developed with SAP standard tools.
  • Configuration and modification of existing out-of-the-box SAP Fiori apps, together with creation of new SAPUI5 apps, following the SAP Fiori paradigm and using the SAP Business Application Studio suite and Sap local Webide personal edition.
  • Understanding of SAP cloud connector and use of git for version management.
  • Configuration and customization of standard SAP workflows to support the Business in automating routine and repetitive activities, such as documents approvals and Self-Service processes.
  • Modification of existing SAP routines and tables necessary to support the new process implemented, following the specifications from the SAP business analysts.
  • Support the different project teams during test and Go-Live and report to the IT Delivery Manager the progress status of the activities assigned highlighting possible risks, issues, and mitigation actions.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Application development released, tested and documented.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

Education:

  • University degree in business administration, information technology, or other related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, in providing IT services/solutions within an organization and proven record of accomplishment in development and implementation of IT applications.

 

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Specialised expertise in SAP technical Design and SAP developments.
  • Deep technical skill with the SAP development tools such as ABAP/4, BADI, BAPI, IDOC and ALE.
  • Proficiency in SAP Fiori apps deployment, configuration and customization.
  • Good knowledge of SAPUI5 and its related Cloud-based development tool and SAP Business Application Studio.
  • Familiar with OData web service deployment and development for SAP data integration and exposure, SEGW and SAP Gateway 2.0 Technologies.
  • Excellent experience with the SAP standard Data Migration tools such as LSMW, BDC and direct input.
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.
  • Understand WFP's mission and make it visible in everyday actions.
  • Good general understanding of IT technologies, software architectures and data flows, good written and oral communication skills, good time management, proactive, team worker, stress resistance.
  • Detail-oriented, Excellent communication, Ethics & Values, Team Work, Client Orientation, Cognitive Capacity, Interpersonal Relations, Stress Resistance, Behavioural Flexibility, Leadership Capabilities.

 

Language:

Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
