        Introduction of STAPI:

The SOSVA Training and Promotion Institute (STAPI) is a support service organization focusing on building the capacities of the voluntary organizations working in the diverse fields of social sectors to enable them to play a more sustainable and effective role in the service of the under-privileged section of the community. This includes capacity building, NGO promotion and their strengthening for qualitative sustainable contribution for the betterment of society. STAPI is an accredited NGO.

STAPI has partnered with FHI360 under the EpiC Project to support the organizational development needs of Civil Society Organizations (CSO’s) as an Organizational Development (OD) Partner.

EpiCProject:

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

EpiC in India aims to strengthen organizational capacities of local community-based organizations (CBOs), key population (KP)-led organizations, and people living with HIV (PLHIV) networks to effectively manage and implement HIV programs; and to support resource mobilization through innovative funding mechanisms so that they can contribute to the HIV response in their districts and states on a sustained basis.

In Maharashtra, the capacity strengthening work will be supported for civil society organizations (CSOs) in two PEPFAR priority districts, namely Thane and Pune.

FHI 360 is a not-for-profit, US-based agency that has been working in India for over two decades. Since the mid-90’s, FHI 360 in India has partnered with the national and state governments and more than 150 local civil society organizations (CSOs), including KP-led organizations and PLHIV networks to strengthen their institutional and technical capacity in the delivery of HIV services, focusing on key populations and other vulnerable and at risk populations.

1. Title of the Position : Resource Mobilization Officer

 

Position at - Pune

 

Resource mobilization will refer to all activities involved in securing new and additional resources for the partner organizations. Resource mobilization will also involve making better use of, and maximizing, existing resources.

 

The Resource Mobilization Officer will be responsible for building an increasingly, diversified network of resource partners including development partners, corporates, , philanthropists and foundations

He/She will develop and implement Resource Mobilization Strategy;

 

He/she will be a strategic thinker with strong understanding of various media sources and the development sector.

 

He/She will be responsible for providing leadership in the resource mobilization strategy in response to the emerging opportunities and challenges.

 

He or She will be responsible for developing a broad landscaping/ Resource Mobilization Plans of the different domestic fund-raising options based on prioritization of the resource mobilization that will be available to the partner organizations.

 

He or She will be responsible for assessment of different philanthropy and crowd sourcing capacities and exploring other innovative financing options for the partner organisations

He/She will be responsible for conducting research on potential donors/partners such as trusts, foundations, companies and high net worth individuals, and identify relevant resources including various EOI's / Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Applications (RFAs), guide and coordinate responses.

 

He or She will be facilitating the handholding support to partner organisations in developing their resource mobilization plans and marketing collaterals

 

He or She will be responsible for facilitating the trainings in the areas of resource-mobilizationhandholding support to partner organizations in developing their resource mobilization plans and marketing collaterals including organizational capacity statements, fact sheets, promotional brochures, annual report and other products for image building and external communication and positioning.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Social Science, Business Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in developing fund-raising strategy and institutional resource mobilization, understanding of the development sector and grants management.
  • A proven track record of fundraising from major donors, corporate and foundations. 

Other Skills :-

  • He /She should be able to effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders and partnering organizations.
  • He/She should be able to develop standard operating procedures ( SOP's ) for Resource Mobilization
  • He/She be able to manage a network of corporate contacts and effectively managing and maximizing these relationships.
  • Proven competence in written and spoken English, Good writing and communication skills.
  • Fluency in 3 basic languages will be an added advantage
  • Proven skills in developing and writing successful funding proposals
  • Have high energy, confident presenter who is able to engage people and get them to commit to support
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • interpersonal relationship skills

2. Title of the Position :Finance & Account Assistant

Position at - Pune

JOB DESCRIPTION/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

STAPI is seeking to hire finance and accounts professional, for the vacancy of Finance & Account Assistant. Reporting will be to the Finance and Accounts Executive . He/She shall support for maintenance of accounts and procurement systems through the following :-

  1. Overall maintenance of office finance, as per approved finance rules.
  2. Ensuring timely payments to vendors and staff.
  3. Conduct of bank transactions
  4. Conduct of bankreconciliations - checking of finance and accounts books balances at the end of each month
  5. Preparing monthly expense reports for internal management
  6. Tracking the monthly expenditures based on the donor agreements/requirements
  7. Assisting the Finance and Accounts Executive in preparing annual budget of the Organization
  8. Handling and Management of office petty cash
  9. Ensuring compliance with standard accounting and audit requirements;
  10. Support in conduct of statutory and external audit
  11. Ensuring timely reporting and required compliances (Submission of Audited Utilization Certificates and Audited Statement of Expenses)as per the requirements of the donor agency
  12. Ensuring proper management of fixed assets and inventory registers
  13. Maintenance of documentation and record keeping relating to the Account and Finance division ,
  14. Participation in financial review meetings etc.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:


The applicant must possess a degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent, from a reputed institute.

Experience:


1) Minimum 05 years of relevant experience in a similar position in an organization
2) Experience of working with Foundations, Grant making institutions and societies will be an added advantage
3) Proven record of handing audits and/or conducting audits of organizations
4) Experience in grants management, monitoring, assessments and reviews desirable
5) Providing mentoring and hand holding support in various aspects offinancial aspects of the partner organizations .

Skills and Competencies:


1) Well versed with financial and accounting software TALLY ERP 9
2) Proficient in Microsoft Office, including intermediate skill levels in Excel
3) Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to work independently, as well as with teams
4) Willing to travel outside Pune, to remote locations to perform duties, as deemed necessary.

Language Requirements:

The positions require fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Marathi
