About IRRI

The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. IRRI is an independent, nonprofit, research and educational institute, founded in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations with support from the Philippine government.

The institute, headquartered in Los Baños, Philippines, has offices in 17 rice-growing countries in Asia and Africa, and over 1,000 staff. Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.

This position is based at Varanasi and must only be filled by the permanent residents of India.

Job Purpose

The incumbent will Perform all responsibilities related to the training development, implementation including facilitation, support, logistics, documentation, and report drafting, and monitoring and evaluation.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support in facilitating training sessions, workshops, or other educational activities associated with the project. This involves preparing materials, and supporting participants through the learning process.
  • Assisting participants during training sessions, addressing their questions, concerns, and providing additional guidance as needed to ensure comprehension and engagement.
  • Supporting logistical aspects of training events, including scheduling, venue arrangements, equipment setup, and coordination as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of training activities, including attendance records, training materials, feedback forms, and any other relevant documents.
  • Support in facilitating the training programs organized by CEIRD.
  • Assist in the timely evaluation of capacity development programs for IRRI Education.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time. Additional responsibilities related to the project's objectives, such as assisting with program evaluation, or providing administrative support as needed.
  • Assist in the development and of the Community of Practice for the DBT project.
  • Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Agriculture

Skills Required

Good operational management skills 
Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) 
Good communication skills (oral and written) 
Good interpersonal skills
