Objectives:

  • Development of Analytical Frameworks: Crafting comprehensive frameworks to assess the agricultural systems in India, with a keen focus on environmental impacts and biodiversity loss. This involves a deep dive into the ecological, economic, and social dimensions of agriculture-driven nature loss.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engaging with local stakeholders, including farmers, policy-makers, scientists, and community leaders, to gather insights, validate findings, and foster collaborative solutions.
  • Data Analysis and Biodiversity Assessment: Conducting rigorous data analysis to identify the drivers of biodiversity loss linked to agricultural practices. This includes mapping the geographical scope of conflicts between agriculture and nature conservation and assessing the impact on ecosystem services and biodiversity.
  • Financial Analysis and Policy Documentation: Performing financial analyses of identified sustainable management approaches and technologies. Documenting policy reforms and public investment strategies that can support the transition to more sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Report Compilation and Dissemination: Compiling detailed reports that encapsulate the findings, analyses, and recommendations for stakeholders, aimed at informing policy and practice.



Requirements

  • Preferably a Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline in agriculture, environmental science, economics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices and technologies.
  • Familiarity with nature conservation and ecosystem management.
  • Understanding of agricultural policy development and implementation.
  • Ability to conduct thorough research on agricultural systems, environmental impacts, and policy frameworks and proficiency in data, besides analysis using statistical software such as R, Python, or SPSS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
