ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RBs) and Country Offices (COs). Job holders typically report to the Budget & Programming Officer.
Job holders at this level are expected, under general supervision, to take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. They are expected to use own discretion to address unforeseen situations seeking advice from supervisor. Job holders support management of financial resources and may provide guidance to other staff.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. 
Language: General Service (Headquarters): Fluency (level C) in English language. Fluency (level C) or intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official language may be required depending on the location of the post or area of responsibility.

General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Support the Budget and Programme team to assist the Country Director to monitor and evaluate budget(s), to ensure that planned financial resources are used effectively.
  2. Assist with other business units in developing and interpreting business process flows.
  3. Support analysts and due diligence for potential financing from private sector projects in the renewable energy, and supply chain services
  4. To support sector analysis of the economic, financial, technological aspects of projects or proposals.
  5. Support in research on potential partners, markets and funding opportunities.
  6. Provide review external developments and research material relevant for NACO.
  7. Assist in conducting analysis and research relevant for projects and engagements.

Resource Management

Monitors trends in staffing and resource usage to anticipate and escalate potential issues to programme leaders.

Performance Management

Displays sufficient understanding of WFP performance management system to gather relevant and accurate information from internal and external sources for inputs to monitoring and/or evaluation processes.

Supply Chain and Operations Knowledge

Demonstrates basic understanding of WFP programme, implementation, and supply chain principles (including project modalities & structures).
