Duties and Responsibilities
This consultancy position within the Staff Care Division is to support the development of the Division across the five fields of operation. It is required to develop appropriate data support, reporting, systems development and communications. • The consultant will design and deploy a new information-sharing database tailored to support, coordinate and facilitate staff care strategies and initiatives including emergency response across all operational fields and develop and maintain a comprehensive roster system. The consultant will also implement a comprehensive communication framework, ensuring the implementation of the staff care strategy across all five fields of operation • The consultant will develop and monitor a database platform for peer support groups and counsellor activities across the five fields of operation • The consultant will coordinate media and communication efforts for mental health podcast initiatives and the strategic development of a dedicated mental health platform. The consultant will coordinate content creation and enhance mental health awareness and support for UNRWA staff. • The consultant will facilitate the design and implementation of evaluation instruments aimed at measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the staff care initiatives to ensure evidence-based informed strategies and mental health framework for staff support and care. The consultant will use reporting tools to develop, compile, and analyse reports, providing ad hoc analysis in collaboration with the Staff Care Division/Team, and generate reports on emergencies and critical incidents. The consultant will also coordinate staff care initiatives related to gender-based violence, women’s rights and resource mobilization • The consultant will identify capacity-building needs, support the staff counsellors in preparing psychological interventions and assist in projects designed to strengthen the Staff Care Unit across all five fields of operation. The consultant will conduct field visits to Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and the occupied Palestinian territories to evaluate effectiveness of staff care initiatives and assist in coordinating emergency responses • The consultant will promote mental health and self-care awareness, collaborate with field staff counsellors and relevant well-being stakeholders and field coordinators and advocate for integrating staff well-being into the agency’s operations, participating in meetings for quality assurance, and supporting the comprehensive documentation and continuous improvement of program processes
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Economics, International Relations, or a related field A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian settings or project coordination • Strong understanding of the humanitarian landscape in the region • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to organize workload and prioritize tasks under pressure. • Willingness to conduct field visits to volatile environments and coordinate closely with various UNRWA departments. Additional Information
1. The duration of the assignment is 6 months. 2. The assignment is office-based at HQ Amman. 3. Remuneration will be set at P2 level (USD 5,140 per month) 4. The Consultant will work under the overall supervision of the Director of Relief and Social Services
