Call for interest for various positions

The Regulatory Institute is an independent non-profit think tank that aims to improve regulation globally so that regulations benefit us all. We achieve this through research into good lawmaking and regulatory techniques, and pro bono consultancy to governments and parliaments. The Regulatory Institute has an impressive track record, as evidenced by the last annual activity reports published on www.howtoregulate.org.

The Regulatory Institute is funded exclusively by modest private donations. It works with freelancers in medium-income countries, today based in the Philippines, India, Cameroon, Tunisia, Ukraine, and Bolivia, and with volunteers currently in Australia, Belgium, and Germany.

The Regulatory Institute is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join its team. The Regulatory Institute is looking for individuals to fill the following functions:

a) Drafting of articles that compare regulation on the same topic in different jurisdictions and aiming to identify good regulatory techniques,

b) Monitoring legislative projects in parts of the world and representing the Regulatory Institute in the respective jurisdictions,

c) Drafting recommendations regarding draft bills by applying the methodology of the Regulatory Institute laid down in its Handbook and using the examples provided by its model laws,

d) Drafting model laws following the pattern of past model laws of the Regulatory Institute,

e) Assisting the development of an inventory of reference legislation by classic internet research and the use of artificial intelligence,

f) Assisting the general manager of the Regulatory Institute in her outreach activities, and

g) Brokering contacts with potential partner institutions as our senior advisors or patrons.

Experience has shown that legal studies are paramount for functions a) to e). However, we do not categorically exclude the recruitment of non-lawyers with work experience in regulation for these functions either.
