About LEPRA Society: Established in 1989, LEPRA Society is a Non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to serving individuals affected by leprosy. As a partner of Lepra UK, it traces its roots back to 1924. Led by Chairman Jagadish Pradhan and Chief Executive Prasant Naik, LEPRA Society operates with a vision for sustainable development and humanitarian aid.
 
Position Overview: LEPRA Society is seeking a skilled Capacity Assessment Consultant to evaluate the governance, structures, policies, and procedures of its Management Board and Committees. The consultant will conduct a comprehensive review, assessing the skills and experiences of board members, ensuring robust decision-making processes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review existing documentation related to the Management Board, Committees, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct interviews with key stakeholders, including board members, senior staff, and stakeholders from Lepra UK.
  • Evaluate election processes for board members and Chairperson, as well as the support provided by the Executive.
  • Assess the terms of reference for the board and its sub-committees. 
Deliverables:
  • A statement on the approach and methodology that the consultant will follow in preparing the capacity assessment.
  • Comprehensive report documenting the findings of the capacity assessment. A draft for review followed by submission of the final report.
  • Summary presentation outlining key findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Actionable recommendations for enhancing governance, accompanied by prioritization criteria and implementation strategies.
  • Any additional materials or documentation generated during the assessment process.
Reporting and Communication:
  • Regular progress updates to the Chair and Chief Executive of LEPRA Society.
  • Final report and presentation to be delivered to the LEPRA Society’s management Body
  • A copy to the final report shall be simultaneously sent to Chair and CEO of Lepra UK.
Skills and Experience requirements:
  • Experience in conducting organizational capacity assessments, particularly in governance.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Confidentiality: The consultant must ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information obtained during the assessment process, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
