Context

We are trying to use the power of AI as well as power of collaboration to come out with an innovative product showcasing the need of reducing land degradation and restoring already degraded land. The project will start on 01-7-2024 and end on 30.09.2024. Volunteers will be expected to commit 15-20 hours per week to the project, with flexibility based on their availability. Volunteers will submit the data collection form weekly.

Task description

The G20 Global Initiative for Reducing Land Degradation and Enhancing Conservation of Terrestrial Habitat was launched in Riyadh in 2020 during the Saudi Arabia Presidency of 2020. The initiative has a global ambition to reduce land degradation by 50 % by 2040. The Initiative Coordination Office is based in UN Convention to Combat Desertification in Bonn. More details of the initiative can be seen at www.g20land.org. The G20 Global Land Initiative is currently planning to develop a documentary film “Restored Land 2040” using the potential of Artificial Intelligence. The entire movie will be scripted, imaged developed, voice over and subtitles, all using AI. This will need AI and media specialists interested in nature restoration and technical experts interested in modern technologies to work together. The Online Volunteers will be responsible for: • Meet to understand the scope of the assignment and prepare a comprehensive work plan outlining tasks, responsibilities, and timelines. • Develop a script for the documentary "A Restored World 2040" that spans different ecological and geographic zones. • Work collaboratively using AI tools to generate images, videos and background score that correspond to the script. This includes the generation of each shot, along with camera movements that match the script and voice-over. • Integrate the AI-generated content to produce the first cut of the documentary. • Perform editing, generating voice-over and subtitles in multiple languages to ensure a smooth visual flow of the documentary. • Finalise the documentary and review it with the GLI team and stakeholders. • Attend weekly coordination meetings.
