We are seeking a Content Writer and Curator to join our team and play a pivotal role in showcasing the impactful work of our fellowship program. About Digital Swaraj Fellowship: The Digital Swaraj Fellowship, a flagship program run by the Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF), is a pioneering initiative that established in 2023, aimed at empowering youth with a hands-on exposure to the rural digital landscape in India, to harness the potential of digital technologies to facilitate and enhance access and empowerment of the underserved, unconnected, and marginalised communities.
Through a rigorous selection process, fellows are chosen based on their commitment to social change, innovative ideas, and potential for leadership. Once selected, fellows undergo comprehensive training, mentorship, and capacity-building workshops conducted by experts in various fields, including technology, community engagement, and advocacy. During the fellowship period, fellows embark on projects that address critical issues such as digital literacy, access to information, e-governance, and digital rights of different communities and regions. The experience will provide a comprehensive understanding of grassroots realities to the fellows, equipping them to become agents of social change.

Job Responsibilities
1. Content Creation
⢠Collect case stories, testimonials, and project updates from fellows.
⢠Develop high-quality written content for various platforms, including but not limited to blogs, social media posts, newsletters, and publications.
⢠Write engaging content about the fellowship program, fellows' experiences, and the impact of their projects on communities.
2. Content Curation
⢠Curate existing content, research materials, and relevant news articles to support content creation efforts.
⢠Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across all content channels.
3. Collaboration and Coordination
⢠Collaborate with the fellowship program team to understand project objectives and key messaging.
⢠Coordinate with fellows to gather content, provide guidance on storytelling, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
4. Editing and Proofreading
⢠Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to DEF's style guidelines.
⢠Provide constructive feedback to fellows to enhance the quality of their written submissions.
5. Content Strategy
⢠Contribute to the development of content strategies that align with DEF's goals and target audience.
⢠Stay updated on industry trends, digital developments, and relevant policies to inform content creation and strategy.
Competencies
⢠Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
⢠Proven experience in content writing, storytelling, or journalism, with a strong portfolio of published work.
⢠Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
⢠Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
⢠Familiarity with India's digital landscape, policies, and socio-economic issues is desirable.
⢠Interest in exploring the impact of digital technologies on society, with a desire to contribute to digital empowerment initiatives.
⢠Understanding of the social sector and experience working at the grassroots level, preferably in community-based or nonprofit organizations.
Remuneration:
The compensation for this full-time position is based on the candidate's level of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise in the field of digital rights research and advocacy.
