Context

UNOPS is implementing SiMA (Sustainable Integrated Municipal Actions) project in Beirut and Bourj Hammoud funded by the German government through KfW Development Bank. The project aims at improving the access to critical municipal services and increasing the resilience of the Beirut and Bourj Hammoud municipalities affected by the explosion. The project has three components that are implemented through an extensive community engagement approach. The three components are: - The rehabilitation and construction works will be targeting public and municipal buildings and infrastructure such as parks, water/ sewage networks, streets etc. - A capacity building component was embedded in the project targeting municipality staff. It includes provision of equipment to ensure operation and maintenance of the rehabilitation works and provision of training related to the works. Training topics might include but not limited to, operation and maintenance, conflict sensitivity and more. - UNOPS will award grants to local CBOs/NGOs for projects promoting social cohesion. Potential involvement of local communities in the operations, cleaning, and maintenance of project interventions such as public spaces will be explored in order to further enhance the sustainability of the project.

Task description

Design onsite banners for the rehabilitation of a public sports courts in Beirut, Lebanon. The banners are 17 in total and connected to cover a distance of 85m. The banners are to be put around the construction site during the rehabilitation works to showcase the design and promote the project and its stakeholders. The goals of the assignment is to: - Showcase the design of the courts - Promote SiMA (with its various subprojects), UNOPS and KfW - Encourage people to use the courts - Target families and youth (especially girls) - Promote the work SiMA is doing regarding inclusion of marginalized community members such as people with disability - Give the sense of safety and security in the courts as this was one of the main concerns with regards to the functionality of the courts - Give the sense of equal public access for all to promote social connections through sports and in public spaces for an inclusive urban experience - The banners are to encourage people to use the public space when it is rehabilitated to promote social connections via sports in public spaces. It is important to also ensure that accessibility
