1. People Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Manage all data requirements for any people reporting and analysis requests.

  • Prepare analyses, reporting and dashboards on UNOPS people data, including for external stakeholders such as UN Women and the UN Chief Executives Board, and to inform senior management decision-making, e.g. through the Quarterly Management Reviews (QMRs).

  • Draw conclusions and recommendations for decisions based on analysis of findings.

2. Data Quality and HR Process Excellence
  • Ensure data sets are fit for purpose, quality-assured and user-friendly.

  • Manage relevant data from various internal stakeholders to understand internal reporting systems and how these relate to people data needs.

  • Continuously improve, standardize and automate analysis, reporting and visualization of people data in response to the needs of HR practitioners and senior management.

  • Recommend improvements to HR processes and policies and related performance measurements.

  • Advise users on best use of data for their specific needs and purposes and make recommendations for analysis and reports.

3. Analytics for Strategic People Projects
  • Manage data aspects of strategic people projects.

  • Drive people data projects independently, liaising with senior management as required.

  • Develop correspondence, reports, dashboards and presentations, including statistical material for internal clients.

  • Monitor and follow up on actual implications of the aforementioned initiatives.

4. Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building
  • Contribute to the dissemination and sharing of knowledge, best practices and lessons learned for building capacity and data literacy of internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with PCG teams to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work.

Impact of  Results The HR Senior Analyst (Analytics) contributes to the timely and transparent reporting of data to senior management, governing bodies and various other external stakeholders. Quality analysis of people data by the HR Senior Analyst helps drive informed decision-making by senior management while the quality of reporting produced by the HR Senior Analyst helps enhance the visibility and image of UNOPS among external stakeholders as a trusted part of the UN system.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:
  • Master’s degree, preferably in a quantitative or analytical field like HR management, business analytics, data science, behavioural sciences, psychology or other related fields are required.

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree.

Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in data analysis, human resources, management support or other analytics and business intelligence related projects.

  • Excellence in  data management and visualization experience, as demonstrated through strong competence in MS Excel and/or Google Sheets is required.

  • Knowledge of BigQuery and Looker or similar tools is an asset.

  • Experience working in an international environment is an advantage.

  • Prior knowledge of HR processes and metrics is an added advantage.

Language Requirements:
  • Full working knowledge of English is essential.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
