IRW’s Finance department is recruiting for the position of ‘Payables Officer’ to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in Birmingham, UK. The organisation operates to a hybrid working model.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors (internal & external), national and international; performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Demonstrable track record of processing high volume of transactions.
  • A strong customer service focus, and the ability to build effective working relationships with employees and external stakeholders/suppliers.
  • Expense-claim processing experience, knowledge and understanding.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and to process deadlines.
  • High level of computer literacy, experience using spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • Computerised accounting payables experience using Unit 4/Agresso is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail and an orderly approach to processing high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good level of general knowledge and awareness of topical financial issues.
  • Proven understanding of accounting principles and concepts (e.g. accounting for payables.
  • General Knowledge of Charities and services provided.
  • Ability to prepare, analyse and verify routine financial documents and reports.
  • Ability to show confidence in communicating with others.
  • A good level of literacy skills
  • The ability to understand financial information and manipulate data
