Program Associate Consultant
Overview
The objective of the job is to efficiently coordinate and execute various activities related to the TOFI (Trees Outside Forest in India) Program, including support in GIS & remote sensing activities, generating meaningful results from the GPT models like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. for TOF call center, coordination for TOF commodities data collection for Market Knowledge Information System and assist in the proper functioning of the ICT-Tools.
Duties and responsibilities
The objective of the job is to efficiently coordinate and execute various activities related to the TOFI (Trees Outside Forest in India) Program, including support in GIS & remote sensing activities, generating meaningful results from the GPT models like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. for TOF call center, coordination for TOF commodities data collection for Market Knowledge Information System and assist in the proper functioning of the ICT-Tools.
- Understanding of remote sensing and GIS technology and software tools like QGIS, ENVI, the Google Earth Engine (GEE)
- Understanding of satellite data, image classification, and image analysis. Understanding of remote sensing for natural resources management
- Basic knowledge of programming in Python, R, and JavaScript (GEE).
- Ability to communicate with AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Microsoft’s copilot to generate meaningful answers with their source information
- Coordinate with the state teams to gather the tree product data at regular intervals and ensure data quality and consistency.
- Regularly monitor the market information system for its proper functioning
- Eagerness to learn the new technology for improvement of project outcomes
- Attend to any other work assigned by CIFOR-ICRAF.
Education, knowledge and experience
• Graduate or above degree in Agriculture, Forestry/agroforestry, Natural Resources Management, or any relevant field.• An understanding and prior experience (preferred) of the map, GPS, and Geoinformatics-related app/software/tools, preferably their application in agriculture, forestry, or agroforestry-related projects.
• 1-2 years of experience in the natural resource management domain is desirable.
• Basics of programming skills (R, Python, etc.). Knowledge of JavaScript (GEE).
• Ability to analyze the user's queries and find their most prominent answer with sources through GPT models.
• Excellent Analytical and computer skills: MS Office, Internet Explorer, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Knowledge or willingness to work on ground truth data collection and coordinating with teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
