Context
Elucid is a social enterprise committed to improving the quality and access to healthcare for
farmers in global supply chains. Elucid collaborates primarily with offtakers in supply chains
and works closely with Ghana Health Service, the National Health Insurance Administration,
and academic partners such as Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,
Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health. We are
currently implementing a Gavi-funded program to improve vaccination coverage and
healthcare access for cocoa farming communities in Ghana's Eastern, Ahafo, and Bono
regions. The program will serve over 40,000 children and 250,000 indirect beneficiaries.

Overview
The Medical Outreach Officer will lead the planning, management, and execution of
community outreach activities aimed at improving health literacy, vaccine uptake, and
access to healthcare services. This role requires extensive collaboration with community
health workers, health facilities, and local leaders to implement outreach campaigns, mobile
clinics, and health education programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
community health and experience managing outreach activities in resource-limited settings.

Key Responsibilities
1. Community Outreach Activities
● Plan and execute vaccine communication campaigns to improve vaccine awareness
and trust.
● Develop and implement health literacy programs tailored to local communities.
● Organize and manage mobile clinics in collaboration with healthcare providers and
community leaders.
● Support the roll-out of malaria and HPV vaccination programs.
● Facilitate NHIS enrollment and renewal campaigns.

2. Collaboration with Community Health Workers
● Develop strategies for identifying and tracking zero-dose children.
● Train and supervise CHWs to ensure effective delivery of outreach and education
activities.
● Provide ongoing support and guidance to CHWs for identifying and engaging target
populations, including zero-dose and under-vaccinated children.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
● Build relationships with local health facilities, traditional leaders, and other
stakeholders to facilitate community outreach efforts.
● Engage with cocoa farmer cooperatives and their leadership.
● Coordinate with public and private healthcare facilities for outreach activities
● Facilitate community feedback mechanisms.
● Represent Elucid at community meetings, forums, and health events.
4. Program Monitoring and Evaluation
● Monitor outreach activities to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for
improvement.
● Collect and analyze data on community engagement, vaccine uptake, and health
literacy outcomes.
● Contribute to reporting and sharing of insights with stakeholders to refine program
strategies.
● Support implementation research activities.
5. Capacity Building and Training
● Design and deliver training sessions for CHWs and healthcare workers on vaccine
communication and outreach strategies.
● Develop educational materials and resources to support outreach activities.

Qualifications
Education:
● Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, Community Health, or a related field.
Experience:
● 3+ years of experience in community health, outreach program management, or a
related field.
● Proven track record in conducting community-based health campaigns.
● Familiarity with Ghana's healthcare system and immunization programs.
● Experience managing mobile clinic operations.

Skills:
● Strong organizational and program management skills
● Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for engaging with diverse
stakeholders.
● Proficiency in training, mentoring, and supervising CHWs.
