Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Support Officer and Direct Supervision of the Media and Communication Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing short, impactful videos highlighting IOM’s activities, beneficiary stories, and donor-specific projects for IOM Haiti. In performing these functions, s/he will follow IOM’s Communications policies and other related IOM and UN policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Video Production:
    • Produce 1-2 short-form videos per week (30-60 seconds) tailored for social media, focusing on quick movements, engaging content, and storytelling.
    • Ensure alignment with IOM's branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Pre-Production:
    • Plan video content in collaboration with the Communications Unit and program teams.
    • Develop storyboards and scripts as needed.
  • Filming:
    • Conduct field visits to capture high-quality footage of IOM's operations, activities, and beneficiaries.
    • Ensure safe and ethical filming practices, particularly when working with vulnerable populations.
  • Post-Production:
    • Edit videos using professional software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
    • Integrate subtitles, graphics, and animations to enhance visual appeal.
    • Deliver final products optimized for various social media platforms.
  • Content Planning and Strategy:
    • Collaborate with the Communications Unit to align video production with project milestones and donor visibility requirements.
    • Maintain a content calendar for video production, ensuring timely delivery of outputs.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Provide regular updates on video production progress.
    • Maintain an organized repository of raw footage and edited videos.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education
  • University degree in Media or Social Sciences or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
  • Experience in Public Information including social media content creation, video making/editing, photography preferably in media or the international development/humanitarian sector.
Skills
  • Professional knowledge and use of Digital SLR Cameras for both Video and Photography purposes.
  • Proficiency in audio-visual editing programs (Adobe Premier/Final Cut Pro). 
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, PPT, Word). 
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience working on graphic design, social media, online communication, branding, web editing and video making, and related fields will be considered an advantage.
Languages
 
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
  • Excellent knowledge of French and Haitian Creole is required.
  • Good knowledge of the English language is a distinctive advantage.
