About this position
The main objective of the consultancy is to provide support to the Energy Division Chief and contribute to the daily administrative and operational activities of the Division.
What you’ll do
- Provide support to the Division Chief with agenda management, travel arrangements, clearing and reviewing of all documents for signature and other duties, as requested.
- Prepare mission announcements for approval in Convergence, updating the Division’s shared calendar for official mission and leave.
- Contribute on the preparation and execution of lending operations and technical cooperation providing administrative support in the loan and technical cooperation preparation process.
- Support the Division in activities such as publishing/filing official documents, editing and reviewing documents/proposals when assigned to ensure effective delivery of the Division’s communications strategy.
- Process Division’s requests for hiring consultants, as necessary.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, seminars, and events, such as preparation of letters of agreement (LOA) for guests participating in Division organized meetings and seminars or hotel arrangements, as necessary.
- Prepare memos to request permission for members of the Division to participate in external events that require Bank’s approval, as necessary.
- Other duties as might be necessary to support the effective delivery of administrative and operational services within the Division.
What you'll need
- Education: Associate degree/Technical diploma in Business Administration or Bilingual Executive Secretariat.
- Experience: Minimum two years of relevant work experience. Having worked at the IDB and having experience in operational and administrative support is a plus.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

• Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time
- Length of contract: 12 months with possibility of extension for twenty-four (24) additional months based on good performance.
