Functional Responsibilities
| This position will promote collaborative work, with a results-oriented approach, consistent with UNOPS rules and regulations, according to the responsibilities outlined below. Reporting to the Head of Project Unit (HPU), the position title will carry out the following duties: -
Support the Tripartite Mechanism in updating the information collection methodology, monitoring and supporting the information collection sessions with peace signatories, managing information and its quality control, and systematizing the technical process and its results -
Provide technical assistance to the national Mine Action Center (MAC/AICMA Group) in updating national standards, technical annexes, training curricula, and training sessions, as well as in the implementation of an explosive ordnance characterization viewer -
Support the Tripartite Mechanism in designing and implementing technical training processes (training and retraining) in HMA, including Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE). Geographic information systems and interview techniques for peace signatories, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of former combatants for the implementation of the final phase of the project -
Support the creation of a historical memory document that highlights the process of delivering information about explosive devices, so that it can be replicated in future peace agreements -
Support the Tripartite Mechanism in the preparation of reports, management, and documentation handling -
Assist in the planning and execution of activities and events for the UNMAS program in Colombia -
Support the engagement, and coordination of project stakeholders to ensure timely communication, alignment of expectations, and effective collaboration throughout the project lifecyclethe Stakeholders Management of the project -
Carry out any other activities within the framework of the Country Strategy for the UNMAS Colombia program as required by the Senior Program Officer and/or HPU Head of Project Unit |
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education and Relevant Years of Experience
- First level university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) with minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required; OR
- Secondary school education with five (5) years of relevant experience is required.

Relevant experience is defined as professional experience in implementing and monitoring mine action projects, including activities such as Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE), victim assistance, and/or capacity building with national or local stakeholders.

Experience in handling the peripheral system and IMSMA is desired.

Experience in liaising with national and/or local authorities is desired.

Experience in the design and implementation of information management systems (ArcGIS, Power Bi, etc.) is desired.
Languages - Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading and writing) is required
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading and writing) is required
