As we are preparing for the proposed changes in the HR management team structure, our Amsterdam office is looking for 3x:

People Partner(40 hours)

Amsterdam

About the Role

As one of the 3 People Partners, you are focused on ensuring long-term organizational quality and performance, working collaboratively with directors and managers in your designated portfolio. You will serve as a collaborative partner to leadership, contribute to the development of annual and multi-year strategic plans, and support leadership capability, organisational change, strategic projects, (leadership) team effectiveness, and sustainable workforce planning.

You will be part of the People & Culture (P&C) Management Team of the Operational Center Amsterdam of MSF. You report to the Staff Director. You act as a trusted advisor to your designated departments and teams. Working alongside local and centralized P&C professionals, you will develop and drive a high-quality, compliant, and context-sensitive people and culture strategy and implementation practices, tailored to organizational and local needs.

Key Responsibilities

As People Partner, you will play a central role in ensuring the success and sustainability of your portfolio’s workforce and leadership. You will work closely with management teams to develop and implement strategies that drive team performance, foster engagement, and align people practices with the wider organizational goals. You will act as a trusted and strategic partner to the organisation, connecting the expertise of the P&C team with the objectives of the organisation.

  • Develop and lead implementation of annual and strategic plans for your designated portfolio.

  • Enable leadership to create safe, inclusive, high-performing, and engaged teams.

  • Guide organizational design, development, and workforce planning initiatives.

  • Utilize data-driven insights incl. people analytics to support decision-making.

  • Supervise 1–4 P&C Advisors and/or Officers within your designated portfolio.

In addition, you will ensure the consistent and effective implementation of People & Culture processes in close collaboration with the three centers of expertise for culture and change, people operations and learning and talent. You will drive strategic topics and projects, particularly transversal themes that are not specific to certain departments or teams such as women in leadership, safeguarding and team performance. You will also contribute to the broader People & Culture strategy and manage relevant budgets related to your areas of responsibility.

What You Will Bring:

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven professional with a strong solution-oriented mindset and the ability to connect the dots—someone who can step back to see the bigger picture and translate that vision into clear, data-driven insights and actionable strategies. You bring not only strategic thinking but also the passion and resilience to drive those actions forward, even in complex environments. With excellent influencing and consultancy skills and a keen sense of organizational sensitivity, you know how to build trust-based relationships across all levels. You operate with a collaborative attitude, always focused on our mission and the collective success over individual recognition.

Specific Experience:

  • 10+ years of professional experience, including experience managing complex stakeholder landscapes and (functionally) leading professionals.

  • At least 5 years of senior HR experience (in either generalist or specialist roles).

  • Proven track record in implementing organizational changes.

  • Experience working with MSF/OCA structures, operations, or ways of working is a strong advantage.

    Specific Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities

  • Proficient in project management, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and drive change effectively

  • Deep understanding of HR compliance, best practices, and organizational development.

If you're energized by turning vision into impact, we’d love to hear from you.
