The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) is seeking a Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia to lead our regional program in defense of press freedom. This is a senior leadership role that combines strategic oversight, programmatic vision, and team management to address press freedom challenges in one of the most politically complex and fast-evolving media environments in the world.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of global press freedom advocacy, supporting journalists at risk, documenting violations, and leading a high-performing regional team. The ideal candidate will bring deep regional expertise, strong editorial judgment, and a demonstrated commitment to human rights and press freedom.

🔹 Location: Remote (Europe-based, UK preferred)
🔹 Reports to: Chief Programs Officer
🔹 Salary: London-equivalent salary of £90,000, adjusted for local market conditions
