Information and Technology Solutions (ITS)
enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty by 2030 and
boosting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner by delivering transformative
information and technologies to its staff working in over 130 client countries.
ITS services range from: establishing the infrastructure to reach and connect
staff and development stakeholders; providing the devices and agile technology
and information applications to facilitate the science of delivery through decentralized
services; creating and maintaining tools to integrate information across the
World Bank Group, the clients we serve and the countries where we operate; and
delivering the computing power staff need to analyze development challenges and
identify solutions. The ITS business model combines dedicated business
solutions centers that provide services tailored to specific World Bank Group
business needs and shared services that provide infrastructure, applications
and platforms for the entire Group. ITS is one of three VPUs that have been
brought together as the World Bank Group Integrated Services (WBGIS), to
provide enhanced corporate core services and enable the institution to operate
as one strategic and coordinated entity.
As a unit within Finance ITSFI, ITSTR
provides state-of-art information and technology applications to support the
operations of the World Bank Group Treasury. Functions provided ensure that the
systems meet the business needs of users and external clients to manage
business processes for the World Bank group.
This position will provide support for WBG
Treasury cash management operations.
This position reports to the Manager, ITSTR
Duties and Accountabilities
Independent contributor IT professional
that participates in technical design, development and implementation of
application systems.
- Participate in the feasibility analysis for new systems/application upgrades for Treasury operations business lines.
- Lead the implementation of new products, markets, and business-related technology solutions.
- Interfaces with business analysts, project managers, and/or clients to clarify requirements. Develops technical specifications.
- Oversee the management systems for cash flows, including
payments, receipts, foreign exchange, and cash management needs.
- Ensure the reconciliation, investigation, and cash accounting
for the World Bank’s cash flows, which total over $10 trillion annually
- Manage application
support for all bank account relationships, routing details, and
settlement instructions.
- Liaison with the business users to support funding, investment, and asset and liability management portfolios for World Bank Group entities.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments, including bonds, swaps, repos, deposits, and exchange-traded derivatives.
- Expertise in cash management, asset servicing, and financial technology.
- Participates in systems integration efforts, executing as needed to integrate new applications into the installed base.
- Coordinate the efficient internal administration of World Bank Treasury’s Information Technology infrastructure.
- Tests own work leads to peer reviews and contributes to the development of test plans and participates in post-implementation reviews.
- Integrate cash management systems with all World Bank Group teams and systems that originate or receive cash flows.
- Provides daily operational support for production systems including providing on-call support.
- Writes system documentation for elaboration of user stories, use cases, review test cases and provide guidance for test case automations.
- Participates in user training as appropriate, on new or revised systems/applications.
- Establishes systems to monitor the operating efficiency of existing application systems and provides (or arranges for) proactive maintenance.
- Support financial accounting, investment performance measurement, and investment guideline compliance monitoring.
- Participate in systems design, working within an established framework. Typically provides directions to a team of staff and contractors in their area of expertise and may be responsible for managing the performance of team members.
- Provides business and solutions guidance to mentor team members in Cash functions.
PLUS:
* Manage and Ability to manage complex banking operations and integrate systems across multiple teams
* Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments, including bonds, swaps, repos, deposits, and exchange-traded derivatives.
* Strong understanding of WBG cash and payments processing requirements and operations, as well knowledge of World Bank Treasury’s asset management and capital markets business and activities.
* Liaise with service providers and product vendors to deliver IT services.
* Successfully manages large and/or complex projects, processes or services that have impact across multiple areas of the organization, such as across multiple functions, processes, services, etc.
* Contributes subject matter expertise and serves as a technical resource for other professionals in their field.
* Leadership skills to guide teams in implementing innovative solutions and managing large-scale financial operations.
