Overview of position-
Role objectivesResponsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Support the deployment and implementation of rapid protection interventions in response to emergencies, including displacement, conflict, or natural disasters.
2. Assist in the identification and assessment of vulnerable individuals and groups in need of immediate protection support and liaise with the Team Leader and relevant IOM units for coordinated assistance.
3. Coordinate with local authorities, humanitarian actors, and affected communities to facilitate protection interventions in line with IOM standards and humanitarian principles.
4. Assist in the procurement, preparation, and field-level distribution of emergency protection kits, dignity kits, and other non-food items.
5. Maintain accurate records of distributed items, beneficiary lists, and field reports; ensure timely submission of documentation to the Team Leader.
6. Monitor protection risks and trends in affected areas and feed information into IOM’s broader protection monitoring and analysis framework.
7. Support the documentation of emergency interventions, including photographs, narrative summaries, and coordination notes.
8. Participate in joint field visits, assessments, and rapid protection analyses with other units and external partners.
9. Engage with affected communities to gather feedback on protection services and raise awareness of available assistance and referral pathways.
10. Share relevant feedback and observations with the Analysis and Feedback Team and the Community-Based Protection (CBP) Team to inform programme adaptation and outreach efforts.
11. Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols during field deployments, report any incidents or concerns to the designated focal points, and respond to any other tasks assigned by the Team Leader in support of emergency protection operations.
12. Adhere to IOM’s protection principles, confidentiality, as well as IOM gender, child safeguarding and PSEA policies and data protection protocols in all aspects of fieldwork
