Your Impact
Are you an electrical engineer passionate about cutting-edge instrumentation, diagnostics and control systems? Proxima Fusion is seeking an experienced engineer who will contribute to the design and integration of instrumentation systems critical to the control, monitoring, and validation of fusion technologies. You will work on first-of-a-kind systems in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary R&D environment, contributing directly to the realisation of fusion power.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and integrate instrumentation and control electronics for fusion R&D, in particular superconducting magnets;
- Select and integrate sensors, data acquisition systems, and diagnostic tools;
- Develop and implement robust testing protocols for instrumentation during prototyping and commissioning phases;
- Interface closely with mechanical, thermal, and software teams, being responsible for integration of instrumentation systems;
Who You Are
- A hands-on electrical or instrumentation engineer with 5+ years of experience in advanced diagnostics, sensor systems, and data acquisition in R&D environments;
- Experienced in prototype development, especially involving high-precision instrumentation for complex systems (e.g., vacuum systems, superconducting magnets, or plasma diagnostics);
- Comfortable with fast iteration and working at the interface between hardware and control software;
- Skilled at debugging, calibration, and validation of instrumentation in high-reliability settings;
- A strong communicator and collaborator across teams with a deep understanding of systems integration.
