Consultant Assistant Electrical Design Engineer, Design Section

BACKGROUND The consultant will be responsible for supporting Electrical Design Engineer, Design section, HQ Gaza to form design duties (calculation, modeling, drafting, quantities take-off and BOQ/specification development) at Design Section - UNRWA HQ (Amman) according to UNRWA’s policy and procedures. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Has a wide knowledge and experience in design resources, which specified for drawing and calculations. • Assist in preparing tender documents (electrical works part) through systematic procedure compatible with other works. • Assist in preparing technical specifications for materials specified during design works. • Commits to hand-over time of design works according to drawn plan by direct supervisor. • Archives all done works versus time. • Prepares itemized BOQ and cost estimate for works designed by staff. • Performs market research for materials to be used during design and still updated with international markets. • Has wide experience and expertise level to perform PV system design works with all necessary: site data verifications, modeling & calculations and full awareness about system operation and maintenance procedures with remote monitoring and intervention. • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Amman - HQA

•The duration of the consultancy is 6 months with the expected start date of November 2025. •Remuneration for this consultancy will be equivalent to Grade 13: $1290.63 including the 8.33%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Electrical Engineering. • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Solar system Electrical design (building works mainly). • Strong ability in use of computers in design and drafting development (mainly AutoCAD software) • Strong ability in use of computers in modeling & design for solar system (mainly pvsyst software) • Background in Electrical works design and drafting for building project (i.e. schools, health centers, housing project) and basic infrastructure (i.e. street lighting, small pumps, wells operated by solar system). DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE • Ability to use Outlook, Excel and Word application. • Possess of a valid driving license. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE • Ability to use Outlook, Excel and Word application. • Possess of a valid driving license. COMPETENCIES • Good communications skills; • Ability to work under pressure; • Team spirit and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; • Good command of spoken and written English. • Experience in working remotely.
