About this position

We are looking for a strategic, dynamic, and innovative Data Governance and Digital Transformation Consultant. You will be part of the high-impact projects that foster digital government, open data, and artificial intelligence adoption across Latin America and the Caribbean.

You will work in the Innovation for Citizen Services Division (ICS) within the Institutions for Development Department (IFD). This team is responsible for promoting digital transformation in the public sector by supporting governments in implementing cutting-edge tools, strengthening institutional capacities, and fostering regional collaboration.

What you’ll do

• Support the design and implementation of regional projects on digital transformation, open data, digital identity, and AI frameworks. 

• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of Technical Cooperation activities, including design, execution, and reporting.

• Contribute to the coordination with ministries, international partners, and the private sector to ensure alignment. 

• Contribute to knowledge creation through guidelines, publications, and case studies on digital transformation and data governance. 

• Provide background material and inputs for IDB participation in regional and international forums.

• Support fundraising and donor relations by preparing proposals and progress reports aligned with institutional priorities.

• Provide support for organizing workshops and meetings (webinars), and any other activity that supports and enhances the dialogue with and between countries in the region. 

What you'll need

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economy, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

· Experience: At least of 2 years of progressive experience in relevant professional experience. Prior professional experience working with organizations in the Latin American and Caribbean region and project carried out by the bank or directly with the Bank is a plus.

· Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

•    Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

International consultant Full-Time, 13.5 months (up to 36 months).
