The Economic Recovery Assistant with support from the TL, is expected to provide operational and administrative support to the implementation of Economic Recovery (Livelihoods) activities, including support in counseling, referrals, coordination, monitoring, and beneficiary engagement.

 

 

About job:

 

The individual will report directly to the Economic Recovery Team Leader. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

  • Counseling and Training Support:
    • Support the Economic Recovery Officer in rolling out livelihood counseling forms and collecting data from beneficiaries;
    • Assist in conducting initial intake and supporting beneficiaries during one-on-one counseling sessions, under close supervision;
    • Help organize and coordinate day-to-day implementation of livelihood activities such as job fairs, vocational trainings, job referrals, and skills training;
    • Input and update beneficiary information and referrals into DRC’s database accurately and in a timely manner;
    • Share information about job opportunities, vocational programs, and legal awareness as guided by the TL;
    • Support in delivering follow-up communication with beneficiaries regarding their next steps.

 

  • Coordination and Referral Support:
    • Assist the TL in identifying available job opportunities and relevant services for referrals;
    • Help document referrals made to and from the community center;
    • Provide basic follow-up on referrals under the supervision of the officer or team leader;
    • Assist in communicating with service providers and partners regarding referral status.

 

  • Relationship Building and Communication:
    • Help maintain contact lists and directories of service providers, employers, and stakeholders;
    • Support the TL in coordinating with partners and employers professionally and respectfully;
    • Maintain professional and respectful communication with beneficiaries and community members.

 

  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Support in collecting data from beneficiaries on needs and services;
    • Assist in relaying feedback from beneficiaries to the officer or MEAL focal point;
    • Support the MEAL team in organizing and documenting feedback sessions and complaint follow-up;
    • Participate in conducting quality checklists with implementing partners as guided.

 

  • Other:
    • Provide logistical and administrative support for planning and implementing activities;
    • Help ensure that DRC’s Code of Conduct and Accountability principles are upheld during all interactions;
    • Coordinate with the Protection and other teams to support protection mainstreaming in all activities;
    • Undertake other tasks as requested by the supervisor.

 

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect that you possess the following:

  • Diploma degree or higher in relevant area (e.g. economics, development studies, Business)
  • 1–2 years of experience working with NGOs or community-based organizations, preferably in livelihoods, economic recovery, or similar fields;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with community members;
  • Good organizational and time management skills;
  • Basic data collection and entry skills (e.g., using KOBO or similar tools);
  • Must be able to use own vehicle for field visits (travel expenses reimbursed according to DRC policy);
  • Familiarity with local context, including understanding of vulnerable communities and socio-economic challenges;
  • Interest in building knowledge of private sector actors, training centers, and support services in Jordan
  • Excellent English and Arabic
