Mission and objectives

UNDP supports strategic capacity development initiatives to promote inclusive growth and sustainable human development. Together with national, regional and local authorities, civil societies, private sector, UNDP strives to support Ukraine in its efforts to eliminate poverty, develop people’s capacity, achieve equitable results, sustain the environment, and advance democratic governance. UNDP is in line with 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to achieve national strategic capacity development.

Context

The Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, jointly led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP ICPSD) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, brings together skilled digital professionals to co-create open-source solutions that enhance resilience, recovery, and inclusion in crisis contexts.

In collaboration with UNDP Ukraine, Tech4R is developing a Digital Accessibility and Universal Design Assessment Tool for Youth Centers. This initiative aims to provide a standardized, easy-to-use digital platform that allows youth centers to assess their accessibility and inclusivity in alignment with universal design principles.
The tool will serve as a model for embedding accessibility and inclusivity into Ukraine’s youth infrastructure reconstruction efforts. It will also strengthen the capacity of youth workers, local authorities, and volunteers to adopt accessible digital practices.

The QA & Localization Volunteers will test the functionality, usability, and linguistic accuracy of the tool, ensuring that the Ukrainian and English versions are consistent, accessible, and culturally appropriate.

Task description

The Community Volunteer will be expected to:
• Conduct end-to-end testing of the tool’s functionality and interface.
• Identify and report technical issues, content inconsistencies, or translation errors.
• Validate that all content is properly localized for Ukrainian audiences.
• Ensure the tool meets accessibility and usability standards across devices.
• Collaborate with Low-Code/No-Code and Content teams to resolve issues.
• Support proofreading and final checks before launch.
