Within ESA’s Communication Department, the Digital & Print Products and Channels Office is responsible for carrying out and coordinating the planning, technical management, implementation, and publishing of ESA’s digital and print media and online channels.

Field(s) of activity for the internship

Topic of the internship: Audio-Visual Archiving 

 

Working within the Digital & Print Products and Channels Office you will work closely with the video team to support them with asset management. Tasks include: 

 

  • transferring the video files from archived hard drives to an ESA server (XMAM/NAS);
  • ingesting the video files of the day-to-day shoots to an ESA server (XMAM/NAS);
  • developing a storage architecture: structure folder hierarchies; relevant keywords; transcode files if necessary;
  • working with the video editors to make sure that the indexing is aligned with their media search on the server.

 

You will also have the opportunity to support the team with video shoots around the ESRIN establishment and to get involved in the basic editing of videos and to gain hands-on experience of the video production process.

Education

You must be a university student, preferably studying at master’s level. In addition, you must be able to prove that you will be enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.

During the interview, your motivation for applying to this role will be explored.

 

You need to work accurately and demonstrate good attention to detail.

Knowledge and background in video production and asset management is an asset.

Video editing skills in Premiere would be a plus for basic editing: trimming, adding graphics, simple editing, reframing, resizing videos to a range of formats from 16/9 – 9/16 and square.
