Our team and mission

The Industrial Audit team performs cost audits to the Industries working with ESA and is responsible for a wide range of audit activities. These include:

 

  • the agreement of rates that Industry will use when doing business with ESA;
  • auditing the cost incurred in ESA contracts;
  • assessing the financial viability and nationality of companies;
  • assisting in price negotiations and review of financial proposals for ESA contracts.

 

The team’s vision is to provide high-quality audit services that achieve cost effectiveness and value creation.

Field(s) of activity for the internship

Topic of the internship: Financial data analysis for cost audits

 

As part of your internship, you will be expected to perform the following key tasks:

 

  • identify areas where financial data analysis can enhance audit processes;
  • conduct research and identify industry best practices in the frame of financial data analysis in the field of auditing;
  • develop a strategic plan for implementation of financial data analysis in cost auditing;
  • gathering requirements from various stakeholders to ensure financial data analytical solutions meet their needs;
  • ensure data quality, consistency and accessibility for financial data analysis reports/tools/applications;
  • implement and conduct pilot project to test analytical tools and processes in real audit scenarios;
  • develop policies and procedures, as well as training material;
  • generate reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.

Education

You must be a university student, preferably studying at master’s level. In addition, you must be able to prove that you will be enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another ESA Member State language is an asset.

During the interview, your motivation for applying to this role will be explored.

Knowledge and background in Business economics or Finance is an asset.
