In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. Since 2024 MI is supporting the affected population in Gaza through our local partner in food assistance and in the health sector.

For its work in Gaza, Palestine, Malteser International is looking for a  Senior Logistic Officer – National Position.

As a Senior Logistic Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of Malteser International’s activities in Gaza. You will oversee procurement, fleet, inventory, and asset management, while providing technical and logistical support to health facilities. You will help maintain efficient supply chains and reliable operations to enable uninterrupted program delivery in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Your responsibilities:

  • Procurement & Supply Chain: Manage procurement processes, ensure transparent vendor selection, and maintain compliance with donor and MI procurement procedures.
  • Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee warehouse operations, maintain accurate stock records, and ensure all assets are registered, labeled, and regularly checked.
  • Fleet & Movement Management: Plan and coordinate vehicle movements, manage drivers, monitor fuel and maintenance, and ensure efficient and safe staff transport.
  • Facility & Technical Support: Provide technical and logistical support to MI facilities, ensuring timely maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Partner Coordination: Supervise and coordinate logistics and engineering work with partner NGOs, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to technical standards.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Maintain complete documentation of procurement, inventory, and transport activities; prepare regular logistics reports.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and supervise the logistics team, ensuring efficient task planning, accountability, and professional development.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within humanitarian or NGO contexts.
  • Strong understanding of donor compliance and procurement procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with the ability to supervise and train staff effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to work under pressure.
  • Fluency in Arabic with good command of English; proficiency in MS Office and logistics management tools is an asset.

  • Duration of contract: 5 months until 31.03.2026 (with possibility of extension upon further project funding) 
  • Salary: Based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with MI’s salary scale
