About this position

We are looking for a dedicated, proactive, and user-centered consultant with a background in Sustainable IT. You will be responsible for integrating the initiatives focused on the delivery of IT services in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals and Sustainable IT. You will join the Technology Delivery Services Team, part of the Technology and Transformation Department. This team is responsible for delivering End User services at Headquarters and Country Offices are delivered efficiently, responsibly, and in alignment with the Bank’s mission.

What you’ll do

  • Organizing the creation of the Sustainable IT Leadership Committee.
  • Enabling the rollout and maintenance of the Carbon Offsetting Program.
  • Establishing the development and upkeep of TTD’s Sustainability Metrics Dashboard.
  • Provide input for updates and maintain the IT CO2 budget.
  • Establishing the Sustainable IT Corporate Education and Communications Program.
  • Organizing and managing Sustainable IT Employee Education program.
  • Provide input and updates for an E-waste handling policy and the hardware donation program.
  • Managing the acquisition and implementation of the Carbon Footprint Management Tool.
  • Preparing IT carbon footprint reports and providing technical input for policy/process updates.
  • Monitor progress on sustainability KPIs and support continuous improvement efforts.

What you'll need

•    Education: bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, natural resources economics, or related field.  

•    Experience: At least 2 years of experience in sustainable IT, including sustainability and climate change, corporate sustainability, climate finance, environmental or energy management, or quantitative research methods in climate or related topics.

  • Additional education/experience: 1) Competence in AI and generative AI technologies, along with their possible applications; and 2) Broad understanding of ethical considerations and the responsible use of AI.

•    Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Requirements

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. Must be eligible to work in job location(s) without the need for sponsorship.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

 

Type of contract and duration

-National Consultant (Local Remote Modality), 12 months (up to 36 months). If international, Headquarters (Washington, D.C), whereas if national 100% remotely from place of residence of selected candidate and services are expected to be provided from a country where the IDB Group has offices.
