Internships
The IAEA accepts a limited number of interns each year. The internships are awarded to persons studying towards a university degree or who have recently received a degree (see Internship web pages for further details).
Organizational Setting
The Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology (NEFW) comprises the Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Materials Section, the Waste Technology Section, the Decommissioning & Environmental Remediation Section and the Research Reactor Section. The Division seeks to support Member States in building their capacity to access technologies, to share good practices and to develop safe and effective approaches across all aspects of research reactors, nuclear fuel cycle, decommissioning, radioactive waste management and environmental remediation. Main Purpose
Assist in the preparation of NFCMS (Nuclear Power Reactor Fuel Engineering) events and projects.
Functions / Key Results Expected
Assist in the Nuclear Power Reactor Fuel Engineering projects\: support in editing IAEA documents and publications (e.g. TECDOC on "Mixed Oxide Fuels Design, Operation and Management", TECDOC on "Challenges and Opportunities in Reprocessed Uranium Fuels", TECDOC "Core and Plant Simulation with an Emphasis on Fuel Behaviour in Light Water Reactor Based Small Modular Reactors). Qualifications and Experience
Excellent written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian) an asset.
Applicant Eligibility
o Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.
