With immediate effect, our Business Operations department is looking for an:
Impact Reporting Officer (40 h/w)
Based in Amsterdam
Why This Role Matters
Our Amsterdam office supports MSF’s global operations, with the Business Operations Department driving operational excellence, strategic alignment, and innovation across the organization. We are building a new pillar within Business Operations: Organisational Reporting. Reporting is currently fragmented; your mission will be to centralize, elevate, and innovate how we communicate our impact, for both internal and external stakeholders. As Impact Reporting Officer, you will report directly to the Head of Business Operations and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of reporting at MSF-Netherlands.
Your Role
You will be the engine behind our reporting transformation – coordinating inputs from across the organization, ensuring consistency in look and style, and continuously seeking ways to innovate and improve. You’ll be the “pen-holder” who brings complex projects over the finish line, especially when deadlines are tight. Your work will help leadership and stakeholders see the big picture, understand our impact, and make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Centralize and Elevate Reporting: Shape a new Organisational Reporting pillar, bringing together previously separate reporting streams into a cohesive, high-impact function.
Major Reporting Projects: Drive the production of MSF-Netherlands’ Annual Report (our flagship external document), Annual Plan, Mid-Year Review for the OCA Council, ESG reporting framework, SPARC (internal reporting), and Strategic Plan monitoring.
Visual Storytelling: Transform data and narratives into engaging, visually compelling reports using charts, infographics, and layouts that make complex information accessible and appealing.
Innovate and Improve: Continuously seek new ways to optimize reporting processes, calendars, and outputs. Stay ahead of trends in data visualization and communication.
Coordination and Collaboration: Proactively coordinate inputs from diverse teams, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with organizational goals.
Audit and Compliance: Facilitate organizational responses to internal audit findings and support continuous improvement in reporting quality.
Be the Finisher: Take ownership of deliverables, especially under pressure, ensuring high-quality outputs are delivered on time.
What We’re Looking For
A proactive, can-do attitude and a passion for high-quality communication through reporting.
Strong coordination skills and ability to bring together diverse inputs into a unified whole.
Creative flair for visual storytelling and a keen eye for detail.
Experience managing complex reporting projects and working to tight deadlines.
Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience with reporting frameworks (e.g., ESG), data visualization, and stakeholder engagement is a plus.
Candidate Profile
University degree in communication, management, journalism, social science, or a related field.
At least three years’ working experience in impact measurement, performance management frameworks, report writing, and coordination with multi-stakeholder processes.
Analytical and conceptual skills; able to synthesize complex information.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
Experience in humanitarian, non-profit, or mission-driven organizations is an asset.
We Offer
An exciting opportunity to shape a new function within a major international organization.
A Dutch employment contract (40 hours/week), with a preferred start date of 15 January 2026. One-year contract with renewal option, subject to performance.
Gross monthly salary between €4,269 and €5,877 (full-time), depending on experience.
An environment that fosters diversity, with colleagues from around the world representing various cultures and backgrounds.
Other benefits include:
30 days off (based on a full-time employment)
A premium free pension where MSF covers 100% of the monthly pension contribution
8% holiday allowance, paid out with the salary in May
Commuting allowance (terms and conditions apply) & work from home allowance
